Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) will provide fellowship to TU students to write thesis

Nepal Rastra Bank and Tribhuvan University have agreed to cooperate in academic research and research work. The agreement was reached during a program organized at the bank on September 20, 2008 in the presence of Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari.

On behalf of the Bank, Executive Director of the Department of Manpower Management Tulasi Prasad Ghimire and Head of the Central Department of Economics, Tribhuvan University, Prof. Dr. Shivraj Adhikari and Head of Central Department of Management Prof.Dr. Signed by Ramji Gautam.

As per the MoU, the Bank will provide Fellowships annually for the purpose of preparing research papers in the Central Department of Economics and Management for five postgraduate students, two PhD and two doctoral students. In addition, an understanding has been reached to give priority to the postgraduate students of the university on the occasion of the internship available in the bank.

On the occasion, Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari said that the understanding between the bank and the university was a positive start in itself and expressed confidence that this cooperation would achieve significant achievements in academic research. He also stressed on the need to expand such cooperation in the coming days.

During the program, CA Executive Director Ghimire expressed confidence that the MoU would help in research work, support knowledge exchange and provide important policy resources from research. He also informed that the bank has a policy of cooperating with other universities as well.

On the occasion, Prof. Dr. Adhikari, Chief of the Central Department of Economics, expressed confidence that the agreement would help in enhancing the quality of research work of the university. Similarly, the head of the Central Department of Management, Prof.Dr. Gautam pointed out the need to make the understanding between the bank and the university result-oriented.
