Section “A”                                                                                                                (50 Marks)

1. Describe the steps involved in diagnosing and troubleshooting common hardware problems and issued related to power supply, RAM, Storage devices and overheating in the electronic devices.
2. Describe the OSI Reference Model and explain the purpose of HTTP, IP and DNS. How do these protocols facilitate communication over a network? Clarify.
3. Explain the different types of computer memory. Also, discuss how each type contributes to the overall performance of a computer system.
4. Define an operating system and explain its major functions. Discuss file system management, device management and user interface with examples of how each function operates in modern OS like Windows or Linux.
5.  Discuss the different wire physical media (Copper category) used for computer network connection/communication with their benefits and drawbacks. Also, provide the characteristics of popular wired media used for internet provisioning these days.
6. Explain the Mail Merge steps in a word processor to create personalized invitation letters for 50 students from a date source containing names, grades and address. Describe how features like data fields, merge rules and previewing ensure accuracy and efficiency, and mention potential errors if auto correct and grammar checking are ignored during the process.

Section “B”                                                                                                                (50 Marks)

1. Differentiate between Web Server and Proxy Server.
2. What is normalization and why is it needed in the database management system? Describe 1NF and 2NF with suitable examples.
3. What is the purpose of software testing? Briefly explain its types.
4. Introduce Kathmandu Upatyaka Khanepani Limited (KUKL). Point out the reform areas for better service delivery to its customers.
5. Describe the characteristics of decision-support system (DSS) and how the benefit businesses.
6. What is the difference between stack and queue? Explain.
7. Define table, field, record, primary key and foreign key  in the relational database management system. Write a query in SQL to retrieve cust_id, cust_name, item_name and teim_qty from the tables tbl_customer and tbl_item where cust_id is common field in both tables.
8. Define graph. Explain directed and undirected graphs with examples. Also, describe graph traversal algorithms: BFS and DFS.
